Massive amounts of hectic life have intervened.
- I graduated from Univeristy
- I got engaged a week later
- We decided we wanted to have it this year. Which gives me all of 8 months to plan. Make that 7, January is already almost over.
- Christmas lasted almost a full week due to visiting various family members.
- We had a friggin' snowstorm. Two of 'em actually. Not fun. My area is not equipped to handle snow.
- I'm now job hunting. But jobs for chemists are thin on the ground right now because I can't move because I'm getting married (yay!).
- Grad school is an option...but the fiance is already in it, in the field I want to get into also. Having one of us in a Ph.D program at a time is probably enough.
- That leaves me finding something in retail. And I've found something interesting out. It's harder to apply for retail than for a professional position. Professionals don't give a rat's ass about your personality if you have the skills they need, whereas retail wants friendly people.
Ok, I feel a bit better now. And lets see if I can't use this to blog about the wedding planning.
Oh, and I hope to have a review of The Greatest Show on Earth by Richard Dawkins up sometime early next week. I read it back when it came out, and would have posted something on it sooner, but my copy of it is not currently in the same city as me.
